What do police think about past marijuana use when applying with the force?
Q. I really want to apply with the Police Force, but I have smoked marijuana recently, but I am going to give it up to join the force. I know that drug screen you and I am going to wait till I am clean to apply, but they also polygraph test you and ask about drug use. I am afraid the won't take me. Does anyone know what they will say about hiring if I used to smoke?

A. If you are clean now, and pass your entrance exams, physical, and such you need'nt worry. Be truthful when asked about prior drug use as the interviewer can determine whether you are lying or not, as part of the selection process involves interviews on the phone or in person with family and friends, and you don't want them to find out through them that you have used in the past, and have lied at the interview.
