What is the difference between hand lotion and foot lotion?
Q. OK, I know hand lotion is used on the hands and foot lotion is used on the feet. That I know. But as for the actual lotion itself, what is the difference in the types of lotion? Why different lotions for the feet and the hands? The foot lotion I have does not have anything in it which would take off dead skin or anything which can sometimes build up on the feet. It is lotion. Nothing 'rough' in it. So how in the world can I find out why there is a so called difference between hand lotion and foot lotion. I know one answer would be "the ingredients" but if ingredients is the answer, what is it about the ingredients that makes the lotions different? Thank you.

A. I only know about Mary Kay. The hand cream is designed to keep working even after washing hands often. Feet aren't exposed to water as often. That leads to another difference. The foot products usually have fragrance to help with foot odor or have a deodorant. Mary Kay's has a great mint scent.

What lotion makes hands the softest based on experience?
Q. I use lotion all the time but my hands are always dry. i also wash them alot. i use jergens, beauty rush, and cocoa butter lotions mostly?
Asked by prettypisces817 - Sat Dec 6 00:47:13 2008 - - 8 Answers - 0 Comments
A. don't wash them more than you need to, but obviously, you have to stay clean! try not to use hot water when you wash your hands though. dry them thoroughly and apply lotion right after (i like cocoa butter, lubriderm, or vs body butter or moisturizing lotion- not the reg lotion though, that just smells good is all) sometimes, in the winter, my hands get extra dry and i use a little baby oil like hand lotion also..

What body lotion is best for preventing stretch marks?
Q. I have been steadily getting bigger and working out harder, and the other day I got my first stretch mark--but luckily it can only be seen under the covers. I use a vaseline based lotion that I really like, but I guess I need to use something different. So what lotion should I use, something cheap, that can be found at a Walgreens or Target, would be nice.

How often can I put lotion on my new tattoo?
Q. I have been using glaxal base; a lotion originally formulated to be mixed with medication(by pharmacists) so it is completely frangrance free, and hypoallergenic. My tattoo seems to be doing fine, but gets pretty itchy if it gets dry. So, how often can I put this lotion on without fear of damaging the colour of my new tat? My tattoo is a pair of dragonflies, each 4inches accross. They're mixed black and grey and turquoise for 1 teal for the other.

A. Only once you feel it dry and itchy. Over moisturizing your tattoo, will slow down the healing process. I have heard wonderful things about Glaxal Base, but its mainly only manufactured in Canada...

What's the difference between indoor tanning lotion and regular lotion?
Q. Most tanning salon lotions cost between $20-50! What is the main difference between using these brands and just using , let's say, Lubriderm, before I go tanning? (in a tanning bed). I'd rather use the regular lotion if it will give me the same effect because it's definitely cheaper.
Asked by kb - Tue Mar 11 15:10:03 2008 - - 6 Answers - 0 Comments
A. The only difference is the ones they sell are usually made for those high wattage lamps. They help with long term skin damage. If you pay attention to what you are buying in the store you will be fine with bringing your own.

What type of sunless tanning lotion should I use and what is the best way to apply it?

A. ive tried em all, and the two that worked the best are banana boat (with the sunscreen and whatnot at wal-mart) and Dove glow, they both show results within the first applications, just make sure you get everywhere in a certain area, like if you put it on your legs, make sure you get all your legs, DO NOT use of your feet, tried that looked horrible and splottchy. wash your hands after you use.

What brand of hair removal lotion is the best?
Q. I Just figured out that hair removal lotion is not cancerous or anything, and that's a really good thing because its pain free and everything. But i use it on my upper lips, will that cause any harm? And if so, what the best way to take of upper lip hair (at home, little cost, i don't really care if it hurts, and it had to last a long time) preferrably a hair removal lotion. Thanks.

How soon do I start applying lotion to a new tattoo?
Q. My tattoo artist said to wait abosut 4 days to start applying lotion, but many other sources I have looked at say to start applying lotion the next day. Which is best?
Asked by vballrose7 - Wed Aug 11 17:15:50 2010 - - 4 Answers - 0 Comments
A. Ive always done it 4 hours after having the tattoo then as soon as the tattoo starts to dry up again, put more cream on. Make sure its clean first, wash with luke warm soapy water... use sensitive soap and then dab dry with a soft towel. Then apply the cream... go crazy with it, get real greasy cream... Id advise Bepanthem or Bachs remedy cream or whatever its called. Dont use Savlon as it dries the skin and dont use Vaseline as its got something in it that affects tattoos negatively... cant remember what it is though! Good luck!!!

Is it safe to use baby lotion daily, considering all the chemicals in the lotion?
Q. I start to give a bath every night before bed time to my two month old girl (it helps her to sleep better), but unfortunately that dryes her skin, even when I use Dove soap to wash her. So, I have to rub baby lotion on her body and face every night. I wonder if any one knows if that could be bad for the baby when use so often on the long run.

A. the health nurse that talks at our prenatal class says to watch for chemicals, she said that J&J is high in chemicals, but Aveeno is good, for me, i would maybe not use so much soap, she cant be that dirty that you need soap on her everynight, maybe just use the soap a few times a weeks and give her baths to calm and sooth her rather than clean her.
