How many times should I use Lotion on my kids a day?
Q. Well, I usually use Olay Quench Body lotion on my 2 boys and 1 girl (ages 4,6 and 11). I rub them up usually after their baths and in the morning. I need some advice on if I should use lotion on my kids more often, or if I should use a different kind of lotion. If any of you use lotion on your kids what kind do you use, and how old are the kids?

What's the difference between moisturizer and lotion?
Q. I usually put the moisturizer after I finish my cleanser, but are they lotion? I got this lotion not too long ago, it's called Vaseline cocoa butter. Both moisturizer and lotion feels the same and they both help keep your skin hydrated instead of making it dry which causes break outs. Should I use my moisturizer or the lotion? The lotion has vitamin E which helps me get rid of what my acne left behind.

A. In my opinion moisturizer is something you apply on your face. There are a lot of brands of face moisturizers for every type of skin (oily, dry, sensitive, and combination). The best type of moisturizer for acne prone skin (like mine) is Clinique. They have them at Macy's Department Store in your Neighborhood Mall. A little pricey, but it works for me. For daytime moisturizer, get the one with SPF 15 or 20, to protect your skin from the sun. The other without SPF moisturizer, is good for night time use before going to bed. Clinique comes in 3 steps regimen. First for cleansing, Second for toning the pores. Third for moisturizing. Vaseline Cocoa butter is a lotion to use for your body, your arms, hands, legs, feet. What body lotion is best for preventing stretch marks?
Q. I have been steadily getting bigger and working out harder, and the other day I got my first stretch mark--but luckily it can only be seen under the covers. I use a vaseline based lotion that I really like, but I guess I need to use something different. So what lotion should I use, something cheap, that can be found at a Walgreens or Target, would be nice.

What is the best lotion and makeup for super sensitive skin?
Q. I have always had very sensitive skin and been allergic to most lotions. I am able to use aveeno hypoallergenic lotion but that's about it. I'm trying to find a good face lotion that I won't be allergic to. Any suggestions?

A. You are lucky. I have the same problems, and cannot wear Aveeno. I recently bought Phisoderm daily protection face moisturizer with spf 20. The Clinique one mentioned is really good, but I cannot afford to use it everyday. I also bought Clean and Clear Day moisturizer, and it is wonderful, I like the finish it has (it reduces shine all day, and doesn't dry out my skin). As far as things I have linked to my allergies, it is Q-10 for anti aging, certian ingredients for sunblocks, and Hemp. If you are buying from a drugstore, consider buying from riteaid/ cvs they have the best return policy. They will give you your money back if you try it and you breakout. Hoped this helped. I feel your pain.

What lotion should I use when I get my face cleared up from acne?
Q. I am on clindamycin 1% topical solution and its clearing my acne up. And I'd like to know what medicated face lotion to use. I am going to pick it up tomorrow when I go to the store.
Asked by I_love_books - Sat Sep 27 23:45:26 2008 - - 6 Answers - 0 Comments
A. 1. Use 35% hydrogen peroxide on the pimples to cure acne in 48 hours flat. 2. After the hydrogen peroxide stops itiching (about 5 minutes) use some aloe vera gel on you face. 3. After the acne is gone in 48 hours, use glycerin every two days as a moisturizer. If your skin is oily, try using some castor oil on your face at night and wash off AM. Aloe vera is a good cover for oily skin.

What is the best lotion for dry skin and itching?
Q. I'm looking for the best lotion for my husband who has very dry skin and hates the greasy kind of lotions. He needs something that is healing and absorbs quickly. He also has a problem with his hands cracking and bleeding. These are the things that we have tried already. Eucerin Burt's Bee's Bag Balm Vaseline Intensive Care Nivea Thanks everyone! In the past his doctor has suggested Eucerin with gloves to wear at night. This didn't go over so well with him. I've been looking at every over the counter remedy I can find. Yesterday I bought Goldbond Ultimate and we have yet to see how this will work.

How often can I put lotion on my new tattoo?
Q. I have been using glaxal base; a lotion originally formulated to be mixed with medication(by pharmacists) so it is completely frangrance free, and hypoallergenic. My tattoo seems to be doing fine, but gets pretty itchy if it gets dry. So, how often can I put this lotion on without fear of damaging the colour of my new tat? My tattoo is a pair of dragonflies, each 4inches accross. They're mixed black and grey and turquoise for 1 teal for the other.

A. Only once you feel it dry and itchy. Over moisturizing your tattoo, will slow down the healing process. I have heard wonderful things about Glaxal Base, but its mainly only manufactured in Canada...

What is the best Lotion that makes your skin baby soft and leaves it glowing?
Q. I want my skin to be baby soft and glow throughout the day. Whats your best lotion, body wash, and exfoliator that makes your skin baby soft?

A. I mix Eucerin Plus Intensive Repair Lotion with vaseline. Start by pouring an amount about the size of a nickel in your hand and add about the same amount of a scoop of vaseline. Rub the two together in both hands and rub and massage into skin. You do not have to rub until dry. I start with this amount so that it won't get so messy. Eventually your skin will dry with a nice glow and last all day. Repeat the process if you are covering more skin. I do step on a towel to rid of excess on the bottom of my feet so that my shoes won't be slippery. You can use any rich, creamy lotion for this process. The richer and creamier, the better. I also apply again at night and let dry before going to bed.

A. Do you exfoliate? Exfoliating is the best way to get rid of scaly dull skin because it removes the dead skin cells from the surface of the skin. I recommend mixing brown sugar with either baby oil or olive oil and rubbing in a circular motion on your skin. You can also use a shower puff or exfoliating glove with regular soap or shower cream as well. I would recommend Neutrogena Norwegian Formula Body Moisturizer and/or Neutrogena Norwegian Formula Hand Cream for your skin and feet. I get eczema on my skin and I am convinced this keeps it at bay. For eczema I used Hydrocortisone Cream which where I am from is only available with a prescription but it gets rid of the horrid itchy flaky red skin. I hope this helps Edit: It could be… [cont.]

But she was also worried about her tattoos fading, but she hated that she was so white. She also surfs a lot so her tats are really faded. She doesn't seem to care. What she does is put sunblock on the parts of her body that are tattooed, which is a lot, but it seems to help a little bit. She uses the tanning beds. But your question was about sunless tanner. I'm thinking that it probably won't do anything to your tattoos. I don't think it will cover them up or anything, maybe the color will look a little… [cont.]

What is a good lotion to use after pregnancy for skin firming and dryness?
Q. I had my son 6 weeks ago and my skin is seriously dry. I've tried using Dove and Oil of Olay body wash and I use Jergens Skin Firming lotion and Palmer's Cocoa Butter firming cream. It seems to work at first then a couple of hours later, my skin is dry again. Also, I haven't noticed any firmness happening. Help!
Asked by disturbedchick74 - Wed Dec 2 11:10:57 2009 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments
A. So called firming lotions are not miracle workers, they can only do so much, and they generally take a long time. If your skin is very dry then you could try using a cream rather than a lotion (the heavier textured creams are more moisturising than the lotions) or you could go to your GP if it is really problematic and they will probably suggest something more effective than the cosmetic creams you can buy. Skin moisture levels are also due to diet, so make sure yours is as healthy as possible, and remember that it does need to include some fats. Fats and oils are a vital part of any diet, and can make a big difference to the condition of your skin and hair.

How do I get lotion out of carpet?
Q. An open bottle of lotion fell behind some furnature and I don't know how long it's been there. I moved around all the furnature to clean and I found it. It's a big mess. Any ideas?

A. Hi, try good old Baby Wipes. I use the ones from Woolies or Safeway. NOT the ones in containers like 'Wet Ones', but the ones that come out of containers like tissues from a tissue box. The cheaper ones usually come in a 3 pack for $9.99. They are really good to have on hand for heaps of stuff. Just the other day, I cleaned up some lotion from my daughters bedroom carpet, after her baby sister 'helped' her get the lotion out of the bottle!!! Good luck. You could buy the dearer ones, but the ones I have said are just as good, or better! They are also available from Coles for the same price. I have tried just about every brand on the market. I have 6 children, so believe me, I have used a few of them!!! lol I hope it works out for you. :-)

What would be a good lotion to use for super dry cracked heals?
Q. I have used many different kinds of lotion and foot cream. I cannot get rid of the cracks.

A. You need to soak your feet in warm water for a while and then take a pummice (not sure on spelling) stone to exfoliate off the top layers of skin. Then while your skin is still soft, apply Eucerin ( used in pharmacies to formulate many cortisone creams) cream to your feet and put socks on over it while you sleep. If you do this once or twice a week, you can just about get rid of the cracks and have much softer feet. This is the only thing I have found that works and have tried several different foot treatment creams too.
