Can I have lots of indoor plants?
Q. I have heard that indoor plants produce oxygen in the day and consume at night. If I fill my indoor yard with plants would that mean that I need to open a window?

A. yes you can have so many nice indoor plants, that does your home good, but then along with the good things come the bad things, meldew, bugs, leaf droppings, watering each plant the way it needs to be watered, some takes lots of water, some very little, you should really read up on this before spending to much money and gettig your self in a hole/// oh by the way, if you have cats or dogs, they might try eating the plants or knocking them over, or going to the bath-room on them,, oh yea !

A. we have an indoor cat ( she is actually frightened to go outdoors ). and we believe that she will see a ripe old age due to not being run over or picking up diseases from the outside world. a few years ago a stray pregnant queen adopted us . she gave birth to 3 lovely kittens in the children`s bedroom one saturday morning. sadly they all died within a year and a half due to car drivers who don`t give a damn !! as for diet, just give them what they enjoy and keep them happy, our little madam even enjoys a nibble at cakes ,raw veg ,ice lollys ,and is a sucker for raw eggs. as i type , she is destroying a digestive biscuit . love is the key with moggies ,give it , and you`ll get it back ten fold . have a happy life with your feline chum !… [cont.]

Is an indoor apartment complex a fun place to live in? What could be the disadvantages?
Q. Ok there is an apartment complex where you access the apartment through the inside like a hotel complete with elevators and hallways. It has indoor pools and community room. It is a gated complex with code acess along with nice landscaping on the outside. So other than a weird smell in the hallways could there be other disadvantages to living in a place like this?

A. That's actually sounds like a fairly decient place. There are plenty of buildings where you would want to have no part of. There are two large apartment buildings in my city. One of them the rent was alittle too high for me but sounded a lot like what you described. The place is very well kept and I actually know someone living there who has no complaints. A place like that your biggest complaint might be the neighbors always asking you to turn down the music, everything else would be handled by managment,

Is it possible to get additional indoor unit for Split airconditioners?
Q. I wish to purchase Split Airconditioner (india) If I check the specifications of various brand air conditioners, it is showing only single indoor unit. Since I have two rooms, I wish to have two indoor units with the same compressor input. Is it possible to get additional indoor unit. Is it possible to install two indoor units with same compressor Whether they will give second indoor unit (even though it is not mentioned in specification) if we pay additional amount
Asked by Balakrishnan p - Sun Jan 27 22:35:07 2008 - - 5 Answers - 0 Comments
A. Normally no, the present compressor which you have the power and the gas is sufficient for one fan unit ( called the evaporator coil, beside don't think you can buy just the fan unit without the compressor ?, unless you salvage one from the scrap yard, if that is the case the compressor will either overload and burn out, why not purchase a new smaller unit for the other room at least you can save on electric bill, instead of burning the present one, good luck

A. This is going to be long, but this is stuff you need to know, so read up. First, I'm amazed nobody has asked how big the cans are! Average store-bought canned cat food ranges between 3oz per can, up to approximately 5.5oz per can. Obviously that's a huge difference, so this isn't a question of "how many cans", but rather of "how much volume". However! There's the QUALITY of food to consider as well, which is what really counts. High-quality canned cat food with real meat as the primary ingredient will require less volume because the cat is able to more efficiently process the moisture and nutrients contained therein without having to pass through filler and grains. This means they will start to feel satisfied sooner, and eat less per… [cont.]

How to rejuvenate an indoor plant that has been left outside?
Q. I rescued an indoor plant from the outdoors, some of the leaves have gone yellow and the little flowers have gone brown, do I remove the yellow leaves and brown flowers? I'm not sure what kind of a plant it is. Thanks.

A. I would remove any leaves or flowers that have gone yellow/brown, or are on their way, but make sure to leave some greener ones for sure, as the plant will need them for photosynthesis. I would probably gently repot the plant, in some decent potting soil with vermiculite (little white particles that create space within the soil for airation/keep the soil from compacting) if you can. Water the plant, but not too much, difficult to say when not knowing what kind of plant it is. Under or overwatering can cause leaves to yellow, as can too much plant food. Of course, it could've been burned by the sun bing outside like it was. Plants don't like fast and drastic temperature changes, so maybe put the plant in a bright spot inside, and see… [cont.]

How can you make indoor daffodill bulbs grow at any time of year?
Q. I have daffodill bulbs in an indoor plant pot. They just died after looking beautiful in my kitchen window. Do I have to wait a year for them to flower again or is there a way of tricking them into believing it is summer again?
Asked by Simon - Tue Jun 19 21:49:38 2007 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments
A. In order to 'force' a daffodil bulb to flower indoors you have to first pot them up in a bulb pan. It could be 8" across & you can put as many bulbs in it that you can fit. Use good potting mix & water after planting. The bulbs then need to be placed in a cool area for 8-12 weeks. An old fridge would be good. Keep it above freezing, around 38 degrees. You may see some growth, but you don't need to do anything to them. After 12 weeks, remove it to a sunny location & water it well. The yellow growth will turn green & buds should start coming up.

I think the seeds weren't very good, but I took the pots with the holder, and have different cacti growing in them and it looks awesome :) Well worth the money just for the display IMO. . . GL!!!

A. i work in a very well known tanning salon. i would say the best tingles (in my opinion) would be by Designer Skin. Bombshell is AWESOME, same with Shrine, Smolder and Goddess. However out of all these i would have to say i love Bombshell the most. if you don't want to pay more than $35 then don't go to a salon to get it as they jack the prices up A LOT-- try e-bay and make sure the person has a really good rating. if you want a heating lotion but with no tingle try Baroque by Designer Skin. its new to the 2008 collection and its a warm action heating bronzer.

A. Squats & lunges can both be done with body weight, or even holding a backpack full of books. Step-ups onto a set of stairs can help too.

Are there any good indoor trees strong enough for cats to lay in?
Q. I have a bengal kitten who loves to lounge in high places. I've thought about getting a cat tree, but I really don't find them aesthetically appealing at all. I was wondering if it's possible to plant an indoor tree that is nontoxic to cats and also strong and durable enough for him to lounge in/climb. Does that even exist? He will be about 15-20lbs so it will need to have strong branches. Also, the easier it is to take care of, the better.

A. No natural indoor trees are that strong. So, now you have to choose - do you get a cat tree that you don't find appealing at all, but that your cat will love (and I mean cats *love* cat trees)? Or do you deprive your cat of what would quickly become his favorite hangout? One thing cats love about cat trees is that they're covered with carpeting. So, a cat can climb all over it with very secure footing using its claws. Some also have a lot of little nooks for the cat to hide in (something a cat absolutely loves to do). It's also an excellent way to train your cat not to scratch furniture or drapes. When you see the cat scratch something it's not supposed to, pick the cat up and take him to the cat tree. Move his paws in a scratching… [cont.]

What is the strongest indoor antenna out there for digital?
Q. We live like 30-40 miles away from any of the towers. The indoor antenna we have now worked great for the digital stations until they fully broadcasted in digital only, now we might need a stronger antenna, we live in an apartment and cant mount an outdoor antenna, and the one we have now is a digital amplified one.

A. My home made antenna works better than any store bought antennas I ever tried and cost me less than $5.oo to build. This is my story; Before you buy a antenna for your new HDTV or converter box, try hooking up your old analog TV antenna. If your digital signal is weak and you have a lot of drop outs. You may want to build your own antenna like I did. I have tried all sorts of commercial store bought antennas and must say my home made antenna beats the pants off of all of them. Go to my MSN blog to get all the info you'll need to build your own antenna. hyghwayman

How long is an indoor gardenia flower supposed to last and is there anyway to keep the flower 'alive' longer?
Q. Sorry I'm not familiar with the correct terms. We bought a late season indoor gardenia plant with a lot of buds. We've researched the right temps to keep it, giving it a lot of indirect light, etc. The buds have now started opening, but the flowers are turning yellow and dying off only after like 3-4 days. Is that normal? And if not, is there anyway to keep the individual flowers open/white longer? Thanks in advance for any advice.

A. Yes, that's normal. No you can't prolong the bloom life. Gardenias bloom once per season, prune immediately after flowering, they set next season's buds after blooming.

How many miles can I expect to run in an indoor track practice?
Q. I never did indoor track before. I do not want to look like a loser so i need to get a little prepared for indoor track. I am doing non-competitive. Around how many miles do you think i will end up running at indoor track?

A. It depends on the day, the coach, and your group. For instance, if you're with a sprinting group, you won't run nearly as much as the distance guys I'd say to start, it'll be 2 or 3 a day, and it'll probably go up from there. Believe me, over the course of an hour and a half or 2 hours, 3 miles is nothing.

What is the difference between indoor and outdoor tanning lotion?
Q. I really need to know what's the difference between the two because a few days ago I went to a tanning salon and the lady there said I had to use an indoor lotion, which I first thought is a fake tanning lotion but I guess it isn't, and an outdoor one. Also I would really like to know how the tingle one works and why it's any different because the woman said it makes you turn red! Help :(

A. The tingle lotion brings the blood to your skin and helps you tan faster. Most people find it really uncomfortable I prefer not to use a tingler. You need to use indoor tanning lotion in tanning beds because outdoor lotion could ruin the tanning bed. I have had good luck with basically anything by california tan which is not as expensive as some of the other lotions out there and almost all salons carry it.

A. Beach Volleyball Rules (Revised for 2005) The following is based upon the California Beach Volleyball Association's (CBVA) rules of play for beach volleyball. Special thanks to Steve Lawton and Mark Hull. A. Net Play * 1.You may go completely under the net into your opponent's court to play a ball as long as there is no interference with the opponent. * 2. A ball can be played back to one s side of the net if it has crossed over the net, under the net, or outside the antenna as long as a team has one or more contacts left and the ball is played back under the net or outside the antenna (new for 2005). * 3. The "let" serve is now played on the beach (new for 2005.) B. Playing the Ball * 1. Soft dink (open hand, finger tip)… [cont.]
