My question is: How do large gaming sites like GameSpot and IGN keep up to date with the latest games? I want to write articles on the latest games and stuff, however it's so time consuming looking at there sites for whats coming. Surely GameSpot and IGN get this info first hand from the gaming companies themselves. If so how would I go about receiving this info too. Does anyone have any ideas? Asked by thegeeza - Sat Apr 10 04:55:49 2010 - - 5 Answers - 0 Comments A. you have to start by spending the time and getting the information out there as fast as possible try working straight through the gaming companys and not through a middle man like IGN places like www.aeriagames.com announce there new games to there community b4 it reaches mainstream I.E. IGN or GameSpot i wouldnt put it past them to say there part of that community for that same reason . Hit up acclaims , avalanche , bioware these website most of the time will have a private mailing list of course your competition is most likely on these mailing list as well but youll have the same advantages at least this is a link to wikipedia list of game companys hit all of them up and see what you can get IGN didnt start out as a huge website but… [cont.] Answered by weaselluck - Sat Apr 10 07:07:24 2010 Do you think EA games is having a monopoly over the gaming industry? Q. I mean, they're going to buy Take Two, so I guess it'll be a matter of time when they completely take over the gaming industry. i really hate EA games! Their games lack quality now, especially EA Sports which are all repetitive and cost $60.00. I don't think they even care about the player, just their corrupt industry. Asked by OMFGWTFBBQ - Tue Sep 9 14:29:54 2008 - - 4 Answers - 0 Comments A. EA definitely has the monopoly on sports games. In this day and age, I don't think it's that rare for companies to merge and try to force other companies out of business or to dominate a genre. Activision and Blizzard merge. Activision is good at making games, but include Blizzard, and now Activision becomes a player in the MMORPG and RTS games. Square and Enix merged about a decade ago, and it pretty much has control over the JRPG genre. EA isn't very good at making other games besides sports games, so it needs to acquire another company to help it get into other genres. Take-Two is a good company to buy. It's probably the most dominant force in sandbox games. By getting Take-Two, EA can get it's foot into the sandbox genre.
