How to treat Molluscom Contagiosum after bumps have popped?
Q. I took my son to a skin doctor because he had these white cluster bumps on his knees and the back of his legs. The doctor put "clear paint" on the bumps. This was to make the bumps open up on their own. Well the bumps did open up, they now look like little blisters (which she said would happen) Does anybody know if there is anything I can put on those in the mean time to help with his discomfort?

A. My daughter had it years ago. She actually had just one...We went to the doctor and he said.."Looks like Molluscom." I said...What in the world is that? He said self healing virus...No worries...We'll just freeze this one off...Hmmm...Let me suggest to you to NEVER allow that...My poor little girl ended up with about 75 of those bumps all over her body. We tried all kinds of creams and ointments and just about everything you could find. The ONLY thing that worked was a foul smelling oil that you had to put on a q-tip on each individual one for almost 6 weeks...No breaks or it won't go away. I cannot remember the name of it, but if you go onto the web and put in Molluscom cures/remedies...you will stumble across a small vial of this… [cont.]

How do I get rid of small bumps on my face, where acne used to be?
Q. I used to have medicore acne on my face when I was a teenager (not too long ago). I'm now 22 years old and I get acne only occasionally; it's not a big deal and it doesn't bother me. What does bother me though are the bumps that have persisted through my teenage years and are still on my face . On my forehead and on nose especially, there are small bumps (where my old acne used to be) that have been there for years and just won't go away. What can I do? I'm thinking it's dirty pores, if it is, how long does it take to clean the pores and what should i use? Is it a good idea to "pop" the bumps so I can clean the pores more quickly, and "deflate" the bumps?

A. They aren't dirty pores. They are most likely scars from where acne was but cleared up, but still left the pore dead. You can try a scar treatment ointment, like Mederma. PS. NEVER pop your pimples! Bad bad bad! It'll leave you with worse scars!

How to stop these bumps on eyelids from reappearing?
Q. Often I have these small white bumps under the top I've my eye lids. They can be irritating if they rub against the cornea and give the feeling that something is in the eye. I have seen a doc- and was told to use warm compresses and to clean my eye lashes with baby shampoo. Doing all this may help a little bit but the bumps keep coming back. What can I do? Go back to the eye-doc?

A. It difficult to assess what you are describing. I recommend that you seek the care of an eyeMD again since what he or she has prescribed you has not fully solved the problem. Good luck!

What is it if you have bumps on your virgina and your not sexually active?
Q. Where do you get the bumps and how are they a bad thing. Is it a diease can it effect can i avoid this. Can this bump go away.
Asked by ashley r - Tue Apr 29 22:44:27 2008 - - 4 Answers - 0 Comments
A. My best guess is that it's a clogged gland. You have things down there called Bartholin's glands and they can get clogged and cause bumps. If you aren't sexually active it's probably nothing to worry about. If they are causing pain I would go to a women's clinic or doctor. I've had this happen to me and it was just pores clogged up. I had a friend convinced she had a disease and it was just an ingrown hair. I wouldn't worry if you aren't having sex.

A. 13 Years Exp as a Dry Cleaner 38 year family If the home remedies don't work. Call a few good cleaners in your area, ask them if they have a press only service. about 50 to 75% of what full service would cost. Bring it in show them the bumps, tell them that is the main reason for bringing it in. They will be gone. Hang the dress on a mens suit hanger that is wide at the ends so the next time you take it out of the closet they won't be there. Dominick

What is causing small bumps and scabs on my cats tailbone?
Q. I have a 4-year old indoor cat. She has developed small bumps that become scabs on her tailbone. It shouldn't be fleas, I routinely give her flea drops.

A. I don't know if this is the same thing or not because of the location. But one of my cats had those same small bumps and scabs except that they were on her head. (And also a 4-yol or so indoor cat.) When I took her to the vet, he said that it was an allergic reaction to something (pollen, grass, whatever). The reaction caused those raised red bumps, and she scratched them until they scabbed over. At her tailbone, she could probably reach with her teeth to chew at the itchiness, so perhaps it could be the same thing. He gave her a cortisone shot or some kind of steroid shot and it cleared right up. I hope it's as simple as that for you/your cat! :) At any rate, it sounds like a trip to the vet is in order, because even though it's… [cont.]

A. its either razor burn, or ingrown hairs. these are both common. I would remcommend moistuising your legs straight after shaving them. and shave them after you have had a warm/shower or bath. this makes the hairs easier to cut. if its ingrown hairs then make sure you are cutting them correctly. its best for a little while to go with the grain (cut them downwards not upwards) this should mean they grown back normally. for any ones that dont you can get a cream from the chemist which helps to clear it.

How do I get rid of these bumps from an allergic reaction to latex kitchen gloves?
Q. Silly me didn't pay attention and bought a pair of latex dishwashing gloves. I'm allergic to the powdery latex substance in the gloves. I used them and now I have itchy bumps all over my arms, neck and face (I guess I touch my face a lot!) They aren't that visible, but I can feel the hundreds of tiny little bumps. I stopped using the gloves 5 days ago (only using them once) and have used cortisone cream on the rash, but nothing has worked. What are some other home remedies to use? The allergic reaction isn't so severe that I need to go to the doctor. I just need some relief. Not just the powdery substance...the actual latex glove itself as well.

Do dogs get bumps from mosquito bites like humans? What else could cause small bumps on her ears/legs?
Q. The bumps will go away after a couple of days and they don't seem to bother her. I just can't figure out what the bumps are caused by. She is on Frontline and Heartguard so I am not worried about fleas/ticks/heartworm trouble.

A. It could be any insect bite that does it. (Fleas, mosquitos, flies, etc.) One of my dogs is allergic to some insects and she will get little welts that go away in a few days. As long as it isn't bothering your dog, and she is on all of her monthly medicines, I wouldn't worry too much about it. Take her into the vet if you get concerned though. (If the bumps get puss-filled or bleed or are very warm to the touch.)

A. It may be an allergy to a bowl so switching to a stainless steal would be wise. Or some dogs (like boxers) can get chin acne. I do not know how common it is with labs but just keep an eye on it. Make sure its not getting any worse.

A. It could be anything from just fatty lumps to malignant tumors. I would suggest getting her to a vet ASAP. If you can not pay for it, most vets are willing to work out payment plans.

A. Don't worry, I have the same problem. It's just dry skin. Try putting some Olay lotion on it every day after you take your shower. After a couple of weeks, it should clear up.

I have many zit like bumps on the outer of my legs-What are they, where do they come from, how to rid of them?
Q. I have a lot of redish, small bumps on my legs that look like small pimples. I've tried poping them but they keep coming back. I'm guessing that they come from the soap I'm using, or my razor, or my nylons, but I'm not sure. They are on the outer side of my legs and I would what to know what they are, where do they come from, and possible solutions on how to get rid of them and prevent them from coming back.
