does my blackberry storm 9350 work in Philippines?
Q. I have a Blackberry storm 9350 which has a Verizon contract. I am planning to go to Philippines for a vacation. Can i use my Blackberry? If so, how much its going to cost me to have it work on?
Asked by David - Sun Jan 24 20:33:47 2010 - - 2 Answers - 1 Comments
A. No because verizon wirless's roaming service is CDMA (Which covers only North America and some other parts of the world). Meanwhile, T-Mobile is GSM Which will work internationally but your bill will go up lol. I suggest you just use a telephone/landline and use phone cards with it. OR you can buy a cheap prepaid T-Mobile phone, but your minutes' rates will be higher. Oh and I am from the Philippines, have fun there if you end up going!

How do I download music on my blackberry pearl?
Q. I have had my blackberry pearl for over a year now and I am just now realizing that you might be able to download music onto it, the question now is, how? I have tried to synchronize my blackberry through the blackberry desktop manager but it says that there is no applications configured for synchronization. I have downloaded music and burned music on my computer, now I just want to put them on my blackberry. Can somebody help me, plz!?! Thx.

A. There are two ways you can put music on the pearl. Either way you choose you will need to get a micro SD card, up to 4 gig, to hold the music. First way is through Desktop Manager that came with the phone. You will be adding media, not applications, so be sure you have selected media. It is done with a program called Roxio. The second way is to use WMP (Windows Media Player) and just sync the music to your phone. Actually I guess there are THREE ways. When you connect you Pearl to he computer you should be able to see it listed under my computer when you open that folder. From there you can open the blackberry drive, find the media card, open the music file (or create on if the isn't one there already), and just drag and drop the files… [cont.]

How do you get the blackberry mail icon to show up instead of the yahoo mail icon the blackberry 8800?
Q. I had a blackberry and ported my number over to a different service provider just to find out that the new service provider didn't work in my house. So I switched back to my blackberry and I guess in the process, my email information got deleted. When I went to add my yahoo email again, the icon shows up as a yahoo envelope rather than the original email envelope. Does anyone know how to get the original icon?

A. Actually, that is how the Yahoo! Mail icon shows now. It used to be a regular mail looking envelope but it has changed. So there is nothing wrong with your device. This is how the Yahoo! mail icon shows. Mine is the same way.

What is the difference of and unlocked blackberry storm to a locked blackberry storm?
Q. Okay. So i've been wanting to buy a Blackberry Storm online because its cheaper. Some people say they have an unlocked version Blackberry Storm and some people just put Blackberry Storm. What's the difference?
Asked by FameMonster - Wed Aug 11 15:00:35 2010 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments
A. When it comes to cell phones, the terms 'locked' and 'unlocked' refer to which carriers you can use the phone with. If the phone is locked it will only be usable with the carrier which originally sold the phone. If the phone is unlocked, it will be usable with any carrier that has the capability of connecting to the phone. Hope that helps :)

How best dry blackberry leaves preserving the medicinal value?
Q. Do wild blackberry leaves keep their medicinal value when dried in a dehydrator, or is it best to dry naturally? I'm having some severe health problems right now and finding that the wild blackberry leaf tea is working wonders so have picked a huge batch to dry now. Also, if you know, I read that the leaves are most potent if picked before or when the plants are blooming. Is there any merit to that? Thanks very much in advance.

Q. I use rules in Outlook to move messages directly to a Sub Folder based on the user email address. It does not do this on my blackberry. How do I get messages from one person to automatically bypass the message inbox and go to a subfolder? When I enable the redirect, it only copies the message to that folder but it still sits in my messages. Sorry, I didn't mean this to be a YES/NO answer. Details are appreciated.

A. If you're on a work BES system (work issued BlackBerry most likely with a BlackBerry server) then the BlackBerry follows the Exchange servers rules (aka if outlook redirects your email to a folder, then so does BlackBerry). However, there is an email option that you tell your BlackBerry not to show messages in other folders other than Inbox. If you are looking at your messages inbox, click the menu button, go to Options, one of them should say "hide filed messages", say yes. You can tell when something has been filed because it has multiple envelopes as an icon instead of one single envelope. Now, if you bought your BlackBerry on your own and don't have a BES system, then a "BIS" email system (personal that comes with a BlackBerry if… [cont.]

What plan should I get for a blackberry that includes bbm?
Q. I am very interested in the Blackberry market. I am on a Verizon Wireless contract at the moment with the 2nd LG Chocolate. Im thinking about either the Blackberry Pearl or the Blackberry Curve. I would like to have bbm with my blackberry but I don't know what plan to choose. All the plans look very expensive.
Asked by kneekahloo - Tue Jan 20 00:25:43 2009 - - 1 Answers - 1 Comments
A. Internet is mandatory for blackberry's on Verizon's network for $30/month. If you have internet, you will be able to use e-mail, bbm, IM, and obviously internet. If you're looking for a skinnier phone go for the pearl. But I have the curve and I love it and its so easy to type on! The pearl is too once you get used to it though. And if you think the curves keys are too small, trust me they're fine. I'd say the best way to decide which one you want is go to the Verizon store (with working models) and mess around with both the curve and the pearl for a while and then decide which one you like more. Hope this helped! :)

A. Go into your Yahoo account, go into options, then mail options and deselect the "Save a copy of the message in the Sent folder" box. You can also send directly from your BlackBerry but have your Yahoo address as the return address. This can be set up in your BlackBerry email account options, either from the phone itself or by going to your account online.

How do you download stuff on your blackberry pearl?
Q. I have a blackberry pearl and a 8gb micro SD card in it. When I download stuff using the desktop manager onto the blackberry pearl it does not appear on the phone after I disconnect it from the computer. Do I need to format the memory card some how and then can I download stuff on it using the desktop manager. Or is there another easier way of putting stuff onto my blackberry pearl. If there is can you please guide me with step-by-step instructions on how to do it.

A. It isn't very often that you need to format the SD cards as they usually always come formatted and all. Just to make sure you can format it anyway. To do this go to Settings > Advanced Options > Media Card. You then click the Blackberry/Menu button and select Format Card. Don't worry about using the Desktop Manager software - this only complicates a simple task. Instead plug your Blackberry into your computer and on your Blackberry it will ask you to turn on Mass Storage, click Yes. On your PC go to My Computer and under Devices with Removable Storage there will be a drive which is your media card. Double click this and then move you downloads into the appropriate folders (Music, Video etc.)

Q. I have a battery from a blackberry pearl, and I'm going to get a blackberry curve, which I'd need to get a battery for. Will the pearl's battery work in the curve?

How can I make my BlackBerry's light flash different colours?
Q. I downloaded a free flashlight app for my BlackBerry Curve. The app has like 6 or 7 different light settings, pink, blue, purple etc. The little light on the top right of my BlackBerry changes colours accordingly. But, I would like to make my phone flash those colours when I receive messages, bbms, and whatnot. Do I need a special app for that, or is the option already on my phone?

A. The option only ever existed on the 8100 to make the trackball flash different colours. It is not an option on the phone to make the led flash anything execpt red for a new message, blue for bluetooth connectivety, and yellow for low battery. If it can happen, then it's a 3rd party app not included with your BlackBerry.

How do I add a blackberry data plan to my existing verizon plan?
Q. I have the unlimited texting and all of that stuff on my verizon plan already...I just want to buy a blackberry for the internet and stuff. If I pay the 30 dollar data plan fee for the blackberry will I still have all my unlimited texting and stuff on my verizon plan? thank you

A. Yes you will be able to keep all of your plan features when you add on a BlackBerry data plan. It is as simple as going into the local outlet and buying your BlackBerry. At the time of purchase they will add on the new BlackBerry data plan and authorize your device. Quick and painless - you will love the BlackBerry once you get your hands on it.
