From Google News Search: "Shipping, Storage, and Logistics" Is Internet Marketing a way to solve the energy problems of the world? Q. Through global logistics, reducing the costs of shipping and the fuel consuption, the storage needs, by optimizing the transportation of raw materials to the factories from closer locations and of the products to the consumers. Asked by Imi - Tue Jun 13 14:14:59 2006 - - 5 Answers - 0 Comments A. Not really. Ultimately, the goods still have to make their way from manufacturer to consumer. That's where the energy can be saved. If you use the Internet to purchase something, then instead of you going to the store in your car, the store comes to you in a UPS truck. No, I think the way for energy problems to be solved are: Trying to get clean energy production down to the lowest level possible. A windmill for a house or hydro electronic for a community. Even efficient gas turbines for a community. Tax breaks for things like windmills, solar power, etc. Hydrogen! If we can great a technique for extracing hydrogen from water and using that for gas turbines. Dang, that would be sweet! It would be horribly destabilizing though. I had to post this becuase too many people are misinformed about how food recalls work in another question. Apparently there are some of you who do not understand how the business works. I ve been working in logistics ( that the shipping industries word to encompass the distribution/warehousing/ storage/ and inspection of basically every item you see in any store from aspirin to zucchini) for well over 10 years. My job specifically deals with inventory control and that includes code dating ( when food is still ok to eat) and tracking the country of origin of imported items . Recalls are VERY common in the industry, the reason you see them is because testing of products never end. Say a ship load of fish is imported even though they… [cont.] Asked by phule_poet - Sat Jun 30 11:03:12 2007 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments A. Thanks! Answered by Mary W - Sat Jun 30 11:08:04 2007 Can I legally have an AR-15 in my trunk as I drive through CA to fly out of LAX?
Q. I am driving cross-country from Washington D.C. to drop off some storage in Arizona, then driving to LAX to ship a car to Hawaii, which is where we are moving. The logistics of this move are insane. To make things more complicated, I have guns that I need to bring with me. I have a TSA-approved lockable case for a shotgun, 2 pistols and an AR-15, all of which are OK in Hawaii at this time (considering the magazine capacity restrictions). Is it even slightly legal to drive across state lines with this rifle solely with the intent of flying out of LAX? I'm really hoping that I do not have to ship it. Thanks in advance for any help. Asked by trying to be legit - Mon Apr 26 15:01:21 2010 - - 4 Answers - 0 Comments A. You might want to consider shipping your weapons via UPS or FedEx. Transporting them in the trunk of your car in California may be considered "concealing" them. California cops can get trigger happy when they see what they think is a concealed weapon in a car.
