Q. I am driving cross-country from Washington D.C. to drop off some storage in Arizona, then driving to LAX to ship a car to Hawaii, which is where we are moving. The logistics of this move are insane. To make things more complicated, I have guns that I need to bring with me. I have a TSA-approved lockable case for a shotgun, 2 pistols and an AR-15, all of which are OK in Hawaii at this time (considering the magazine capacity restrictions). Is it even slightly legal to drive across state lines with this rifle solely with the intent of flying out of LAX? I'm really hoping that I do not have to ship it. Thanks in advance for any help.
