Overnight stay at Ministro Pistarini (Ezeiza) International Airport?
Q. I need to pass through (Ezeiza) Ministro Pistarini International Airport to reach London. I have return flight from Mar del Plata and landing at Jorge Newbery Airport, Buenos Aires at 22:00. My onward journey to London by British Airways starts at 12:00 next day. My question is : will I be allowed to stay overnight at Jorge Newbery Airport? Can I reach to Ezeiza Airport at 00:00 and wait there till 12:00. Or, do I have to book a hotel necessarily at Buenos Aires? I am traveling alone. Suggestion please. Thanks in advance. A. Thats is up to you !! You can go directly and stay in Ezeiza or you can get a room in BA near of Retiro and go to Ezeiza next morning. My recommendation is when you arrive take a taxi, go to La Recoleta or to Puerto Madero (this last one is close to Jorge Newbery and the HW that reach Ezeiza) In any of those places you will find nice restaurants open till very late and you can hang out around there, take a drive around downtown, calle Corrientes, 9 de Julio, El Obelisco, or some Tango place in San Telmo where you can find live shows. All those places are very close(10 minutes), so choose and be there till almost morning and then take a taxi to Ezeiza. Near of those places there are night clubs too where you can spend the night dancing,… [cont.]

Overnight at the Ezeiza International Airport?
Q. Aerolineas Argentinas is making my life miserable. They recently changed the schedule of my flights and now I am arriving in Ezeiza at 12:20am, but the departure back to Miami is not until 8:00am - which means an 8 hour wait. To make matters worse, the 2 flights were in the same return combination, but looking at Orbitz, they apparently made the 2 flights separate, so I think the chances of having my luggage transferred to the next flight without picking it up at EZE will be very slim. If I can't transfer the bags, I will have to pick them up, go through customs, immigration and then wait until the check-in counter opens - which will probably not be until 5am. Is there a place within the airport where me and my family can stay SAFELY… [cont.]

A. ive been there many times with my family and our flights have been rescudeuled tons of times sooo... i know that airport like the back of my hand so when you are near the ticket booth there are is a cafe and some kiosks but if you go to your gate you will some resturnants and lots of shopping there but thats about it ...so i advise you just to sit and have a nice coffee and get a book wish ya luck

What is Ohare's policy for sleeping there overnight?
Q. My international flight leaves at 6am and I'm not getting a hotel or driving from my house at 2am to Ohare. Can you stay in the airport entrance over night without having to check-in? There is no info at all on the airport's website on this issue.

A. Not sure but I am willing to bet sleeping overnight is not allowed. You would rather spend the entire night in an airport than get there at 4:00 or 5:00 am?! Call the airline and ask what time to arrive for check-in. I flew about a week after 9/11. Everything I heard on the news was to arrive at the airport ninety minutes before your flight for check in. I had a 6:00 am flight so I arrived at 4:30 am. There was only me and one other passenger in the airport. We stood around for an hour before we could check in and go through security.

How punctual is the Austrian international train system (OEBB)?
Q. I have a ticket from Linz (Austria) to Strasbourg (France) on an overnight train that arrives at 6:43am. A. Half an hour will be enough for a normal change on Strasbourg, you will even have time to get something to eat in normal circumstances. If you miss your connecting train because of a delay, the train company will give you a place on the next train, (but maybe you need to pay the difference.) The Austrian railways are rather punctual, but there can always be unforeseen circumstances, the rail companies know that and allow you to change your plans if you run into one.

A. As long as you hold a passport from a visa waiver country (here is the list): Then you can enter without problems/no need for a visa. I suggest you DO NOT/DO NOT go all the way out to Tokyo, the airport is some distance from Tokyo. Most people who are on a short layover go to nearby Narita City, there's some nice small shopping and a nice temple there that many tourists visit. Its a lot better then hanging around in the airport. If your airline hasn't arranged accommodation for you, there are tons of hotels in Narita area. Remember to get back to the airport around 8-9am, because there are a ton of security checks, and you have to go through exit immigration.

A. First class mail is the least expensive. All international mail is by air these days, so I'm not sure exactly what you mean by "international airmail." DHL is a private courier service, like UPS or Fed Ex. It is the most expensive, but, of the choices you've given, it's also the fastest.

Why not sell passengers tickets to compete with airlines ?
Q. On the railways I want to buy a ticket from UK including the boat (via Denmark) to Malmo. And I want to buy a ticket to Tallinn via Gothenburg, and Stockholm. I do not wish to travel hundreds of miles out of my way by eurostar. Even when going to Paris I want to go overnight on a boat and have a proper sleep. Why do the rail operators not sell inclusive international tickets to compete with low cost airlines ?

A. Eurostar will not take you hundreds of miles out of your way. The quickest way of getting to most of these places without flying is by getting Eurostar to Brussels and then going on from there. You will even find some sleeper services. You can get tickets to a lot of places within Europe now, by purchasing through Eurostar. Dont know if these include the sleeper services though. If you still want to go by Ferry, then you will have to buy your train and ferry tickets seperately. However if getting the Ferry from Harwich to Esbjerg (Denmark), you can buy your onward Danish train ticket onboard the ferry if you havent already brought it beforehand.

Q. I am flying out of O'hare (american airlines) to Miami on Jan 12th, 2010 at 7:30. I arrive at Miami at 11:30. We are going to stay one night at the Miami international airport and then fly out at 10:20 am on the 13th to Turks and Caicos. I am still going to be flying American Airlines and booked the flights thru the resort. My question is, Do I get to claim my baggage in Miami for the overnight stay and then recheck it in the morning? How does an overnight flight work? Thanks. sorry, we leave 7:30pm (on the 12th) and arrive 11:30pm on the 12th. Then fly to Turks & caicos on the 13th in the am.
