A. Try removing all the Polystyrene boards and replace with Urethane foam injected directly into the empty place left from the Polystyrene, after it dries will work better and safer.

A renovation plus new extension get new plumbing, new electrical etc. A high efficient combination gas boiler with integrated hot wate storage and low energy storage charging pump will be built in. All bathrooms new. The builder wants to build in a cold water storage in the attic, because it is 'common practice'. Do I need that? What is it exactly for? Can I avoid having it and feed directly from the mains, as it is done in other countries on the continent? Whatever is needed could be done now, as everything will be renewed anyway.

A. No you dont.However we often fit one in larger houses to feed the toilets only so if the mains water ever failed then at least you would have sanitation for a while. I can see of no other reason.

You have identified risks that should be in the hazard register and you should have had adequate training about these things. A. some people are too stupid to read the question before they answer,,, huh goldwing??? 600-700 hours of chill temperature is usaully needed for trees to bear fruit,, that comes out to about 25 days of cool weather! spigs or cuttings are usually chilled too,, i usually put seeds to chill until i need them the next planting season but if your are going to plant them in containers and keep indoors, don't worry about chilling,, when the plants are big enough you can wean them to the outdoors and they will be fine,, and yes,, I HAVE frozen many seeds and they sprouted just fine too...

A. Yes, it can damage the wood. Also,when you do bring it into the house or warm area, let it sit in the case for awhile before you open it (so it gets a chance to warm up a bit before you expose it to much warmer air)

There'll be two dials in the top of the heater, 1 is for the overnight charge the other for how quickly it releases the heat the next day.You will find that the heaters are warmer in the morning, but if you have the overnight charge on, say 6 and the other dial set to 2, then about 3pm turn that dial up to 6 you might get some more heat from it. If it has a booster switch on it you can get another hours 'charge' in it mid afternoon, but not all heaters have this option.
