What storage server, such as SQL, Oracle and DB2 do transportation companies use?
Q. What sort of storage media do transit/bus companies use to keep track of ticket purchases online, etc.? Companies such as Go Transit, Greyhound, etc. Thanks.

A. Pal, any such application system (including the online ticket reservation system) is least dependent upon the back end database server. When you have options like MS SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, PostegreSQL, then your concern is cost not effeciency as all of the above are capable enough to store huge amount of data. Also depending upon the time constraint, people pick the database server in which they have most skills so that they can avoid the cost of training themselves or their resources. Another constraint is the selected programming language; Usually ; - a .NET application prefers MS SQL Server backend - a JAVA application prefers Oracle backend - a PHP application prefers MySQL backend Hopefully it helps !!

Can someone recommend a reputable offsite physical media storage company in Toronto?
Q. I need to store business documents contained on a large volume of physical media (cds, dvds, hard drives, etc) in a secure, reputable, insured, offsite storage facility (for business, not personal!). Can someone recommend a company? Please include suggestions similar to Iron Mountain (already contacted them!). Thanks for your help!

A. I'm right up the road from you in Escondido. Our neighbors moved with PODS and loved the whole experience. They hired some help to move the big things into the storage box, packed the little things themselves and stored the entire contents of their home for 6 months without so much as a cracked plate. Since they store it in special climate controlled wearhouses, no damage to your wood or upholstered furniture either. When I moved out here from KY, I used Paul Arpin. They packed moved and stored my goods (4 months). There were a few scratches on some of my wood furnture pieces. But, they promptly sent out a restoration specialist to correct all of my problems.
