Truly, whether 2 parties or 10, how can a goverment work effectively for it's people when elected officials vote with their party? My question is why should parties or any such associations among elected officials not be abolished? Thinking more on this, when I go to the voting booth, I vote in private. There was a big Union issue which surfaced last week about secret voting. There's no peer pressure. Asked by Dave - Wed Mar 11 00:48:48 2009 - - 6 Answers - 0 Comments A. Many other types of government can be found, all over the world. With which would you suggest we replace our Republic? Or, do you even have an idea for a new and different one? This is a very good question, and it's very easy to agree with abolishing parties, but many alternatives I could suggest would be even worse. Obviously, the party-in-power is there because it represents the majority. I'd like to see more "watch-dogs", more regulations for the untrustworthy, more emphasis on Civics in school, and more mature decisions than the ones that created this economic crisis. Hopefully, this President will right many wrongs! Answered by ArRo - Wed Mar 11 01:16:19 2009 Are there any outdoor recreations associations in Singapore? Q. I like outdoor recreations(like hiking, trekking, etc.) but it seems like Singapore has none of those associations and it's also hard to find just even a group. So, is there any outdoor recreations associations in Singapore? Asked by MIKU - Sun May 25 04:37:34 2008 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments A. There are a group of people who are called the Hash House Harriers and they go for runs around places like McRitchie etc. Check the website link below. Their website does however say that they're men only which is strange because I knew a woman who was a member a while ago (perhaps they've changed the rules), but you could contact them and ask if there are other groups which allow women. How about dragon boats? They're always looking for rowers. There's also the SingaporeExpats website which is a discussion forum and if you wanted to find like-minded people, you could post your info on there and see if anyone else is interested in joining you. Even if you are not an expat, they don't mind. Answered by BigSis - Sun May 25 11:27:17 2008 How do I stop programs such as WinAmp overriding my preferences for file type associations?
Q. Everytime I use programs such as WinAmp or RealPlayer they override the preferences or defaults I have set for my file associations. I know how to reset them, but it doesn't stop it happening again the next time I use one of those programs. I prefer to use WindowsMediaPlayer for movie & video files but WinAmp for music files. It seems each program wants to be the default for all file types and doesn't like sharing! In the past I have overcome the problem by uninstalling RealPlayer and Quicktime but this stops me from opening some files on sites such as the BBC. How can I stop this happening, simply? I only have Windows98SE and have never tinkered with the registry before. Asked by goulden b - Sun Mar 25 14:44:39 2007 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments A. After launching WinAmp, click on "Options" in the menu bar and select Preferences in the pulldown menu. Click on "File Types" in the list on the left. On the right side of the dialog box uncheck the checkbox labeled "Restore file associations at WinAmp startup." You may also want to unselect the file types shown on the left that you don't want associated with WinAmp. Answered by rknoblock - Sun Mar 25 15:13:24 2007 From Yahoo Answer Search: "Associations"
